Casio - Watches from Japan

Posted in Jewelers Hall, Shopping Infos by admin on the August 13th, 2009

In April 1946 Casio was established by Tadao Kashio, an expert and technologist in processing technology pieces, in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan. At the beginning the concern was named Kashio Seisakujo. Not until 1957 the firm has been renamed Casio Computer Co.,Ltd. He was sure that people’s lives could be improved by society new goods. Now it is a multinational concern with 13.000 members of staff developing electronic apparatuses with its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. It is not only best-known for its great sized and long-lasting wristwatches but also for digital cameras (EXILIM), laptops, instruments, calculators, audio equipment, electronic dictionaries, computer printers, and cell phones.

A really profitable idea

His earliest key product was the famous “yubiwa pipe” allowing the smoker to smoke the cigarette to its knob. The pipe consisted of a finger ring and the wearer had the possibility to smoke while he had his hands free. After the Second World War Japan was impoverished and cigarettes were high-priced. So Kashio’s invention became successful. In 1957 Casio made the world’s leadoff compacted calculator (all electric) with relay technology public. In the 1980s the company reached great popularity with its home keyboards and low-priced electronic instruments. It also became known for innovational and various wrist watches. Moreover Casio watches could present the time in various zones, show altitude, atmospheric pressure, temperature and – in addition to that – GPS positions. The firm was also among the first manufacturers of analog and digital quartz crystal wrist watches.

A wide mixture of models

The primary G-Shock watch, the famous “DW-5000C”, was announced in 1983. Twelve years later the “DW-5600E” – a G-Shock wrist watch including a modern EL LCD panel – was released. In 2007 the world’s slimmest chronograph powered by solar was publicised. The “OCW-S1000J” called the “Oceanus Manta” is only approximately 8.9 mm in size. Particularly popular are Casio’s special dual function wrist watches named Wave Ceptors (analog and LCD). To keep precise time they constantly receive signals from an atomic clock.

Casio’s corporate philosophy

Casio’s firm credos are inventiveness and contribution. It shows the company’s assurance and effort to show the kind of unique and successful products that only Casio can. Goods including a lot of useful functions assist people in their usual habits and make sure that society is moving onward. Moreover, the products should bring joy to them and generate a different culture. Whenever a new innovation is broadly adopted, new market areas occur, and this on the other hand develops expansion in related sectors of industries. Casio watches

History of the Wrist Watch

Posted in Jewelers Hall, Shopping Infos by admin on the June 25th, 2009

From pocket watch to a fashion accessory. What was once, in the earliest years of portable watches, considered to be unsuitable for gentlemen and only for women, has developed today into a fashion utensil that everyone has. Meanwhile, the wristwatch is no longer only a instrument to tell the time. It is a designer piece and can indicate much more than the time.

A great deal of mechanics in a small housing

The first verifiable portable timepiece was constructed in 1500. This was not a wrist watch, but more of a pocket watch. Through technical advancement, which made it possible for people to house mechanics in an progressively smaller space, the needed parts of the clockworks were able to be brought into a manageable form. In this way, the first pocket watch was born, which at the time was still the size of an egg.

The computerized wristwatch from Japan

A totally different wristwatch came onto the market in the 1970’s from Japan, which had built its own watch industry. The new watch from Japan was no longer set on a mechanical basis, but on a computerized control. This wristwatch extended its range of capability rapidly. The wrist watch no more just showed the time. The little timepiece on the wrist now also knew the date, the day of the week and even knew whether a leap year was involved.

The wristwatch as jewelry

Today, the wrist watch is no longer just a watch. The wrist watch has become a fashion accessory. Wristwatches come in all colours and forms cogitable. One can also buy compatible watches from every fashion collection. The current watches are dominated by the correct fashion trends. Despite these contrary styles, there is something for every taste. The small watches, which require glasses to tell the time, and the extraordinary large watches, which make it hard to walk upright. By all means, one thing is certain: science is still likely to make so much advance - that the wrist watch will be found on the wrists of people for a long time, to answer the question as to what time it is.

Discovering What Loose Diamonds Can do for You

Posted in Jewelers Hall by admin on the June 28th, 2008

The thought of loose diamonds may bring a familiar movie scene to your head. A couple of criminals in a dark room exchanging a handful of loose diamonds carefully wrapped in velvet. I too held the untrue thought that only criminals or the very rich dealt with loose diamonds.

This was until a few years ago when it was my turn to pick out my wedding ring. We traveled all over looking for the perfect ring. We looked locally, out of town, on the, internet, we even went to the infamous diamond district in Los Angeles. After days upon days of tireless searching I could not find the ring that was exactly what I had envisioned.

It never even occurred to me to buy a loose diamond and have it put into the setting of my choice. That was until I found the perfect wedding ring. The band was antique style set with about a dozen tiny diamond chips on each side of the main diamond. When I tried it on it looked terrible. The center diamond was a round cut and I had envisioned a marquis in the middle.

When I voiced my dissatisfaction to the jeweler she said no problem, she could set a marquis in the middle for me. But then I had no idea who sold loose diamonds. I assumed that it would be much more expensive than just settling for the ring the way that it was. I ended up calling a reputable jeweler in Los Angeles and he worked with me to find the exact diamond; it was the perfect size, cut, clarity, and price for us.

I arranged for payment and received my precious loose diamond in the mail a few days later. When I opened the package, I felt like I was a part of that old criminal movie. I don’t know why but carrying around a loose diamond feels a lot riskier than if it were set into a piece of jewelry.

I took my diamond into the local jewelry store and left it with them so that it could be set into my ring. A few weeks later I returned to find the exact wedding ring I had been searching for; it was amazing.

If you’re searching for a ring or necklace or any other piece of jewelry remember that it’s not out of your reach to purchase loose diamonds. They’re fairly easy to get a hold of if you work with a reputable jeweler.

After choosing to have a loose diamond set into a different band, the total cost of my wedding ring was actually just under the price of that original style; if I had purchased the ring with the original round diamond I would have paid more for it. It was ironic how it turned out so perfectly. If you’re picky or you have an exact idea of what you want remember that loose diamonds are an option.

Buying diamonds can be a daunting task. But it doesn’t have to be. Visit Shayna Schnereger at http://online-jewelry-guide.com to learn more about loose diamonds.
