Our Best Recommendations regarding Used Juniper

Posted in Better Hardware by admin on the June 19th, 2010

Today it is imperative for a business to invest in network equipment just to sell their goods and services on the internet. As well as the original expense, IT equipment requires scheduled upkeep and upgrades and this often has to be outsourced. And everybody understands having any computer systems shut down whether for regular maintenance or emergency repairs is bound to result in a pretty annoying profit loss.

Buying second-hand IT equipment and other related items helps business organizations to lower costs, especially when a company is in its infancy and professionals setting up a business on their own due to the big expenditure involved. So you can to see why the market for second hand network equipment and information storage is flourishing, in particular in today’s economic climate. They can purchase these items at a small fraction of the price and they’ll work just as well as new equipment. An additional advantage to buying second hand networking hardware is availability. Even so buying second hand equipment that’ll meet your requirements can seem to be a herculean undertaking, specially when you have a special manufacturer or model in mind. When working with IT asset disposal services that specifically feature refurbished servers and second-hand information storage, it is no hassle at all. You will be able to request units with specific characteristics, a certain manufacturer, and occasionally even further choices available to you. Many of the issues with new technologies aren’t obvious until the computer hardware is already in use. System shutdown due to repairs and upgrading is routine in the months after the purchase of brand new hardware. In fact it is not uncommon for businesses to cut their losses and replace their new networking equipment totally after a miscarried deployment.

Of course established equipment has been tested thoroughly. You won’t have to waste time sorting out the bugs experienced with the current equipment. As well, because they’re tested thoroughly prior to sale, there’s no need to be concerned about dependability.

Choosing reputable suppliers is of paramount importance. Contact a few and find someone with a good track record. Doing this makes sure the units you purchase are in good working order. It’s a good idea to make sure the goods have a warranty too.

When you consider all this, you can see the advantages of purchasing refurbished hardware are more than just monetary. With a larger choice, fewer issues, and lower prices, you will wonder why you didn’t try it before now.

What You Should Know about Purchasing Second Hand Computer Hardware

Posted in Better Hardware, Business Opportunities by admin on the May 8th, 2010

Computers are a tremendous investment for virtually all businesses, in particular if it requires network equipment and the internet to run effectively. In addition to the initial expenditure, IT equipment needs scheduled maintenance and updates and this frequently has to be carried out by someone outside of the company. Then there is the annoying lost income caused by all the down time and hassle involved.

Second-hand hardware can keep costs down by a large amount and appeals in particular to new businesses and professionals working alone. Hence, the strategy of sourcing second hand servers and second-hand data storage is particularly sound. Most computer hardware needed to run your business may be bought second hand, saving a fortune overall. When you purchase an item of second-hand equipment, you can rely on it to perform exactly as you want it to. If you can do without the hassles associated with the newest technologies, sourcing older models may sometimes seem impossible. When using IT asset disposal services that have second-hand servers and second-hand information storage, they will do most of the work for you. Tell them should you favor a specific piece of hardware, brand or even features.

It’s no secret that new networking equipment is often problematic, and generally really isn’t great value for money. This can call for patching and upgrades. On occasion, the new computer hardware results in so much trouble that companies just replace it .

With second-hand servers, second-hand information storage, and second-hand networking hardware, this is no longer applicable, whether it’s a second hand Cisco 2811 or some second-hand IBM RS6000 servers. These items have more often than not had most bugs resolved. Dependability needn’t concern you either as each and every piece of computer hardware is refurbished prior to sale.

The secret to getting the most from second hand computer hardware is choosing superior IT asset disposal services. Don’t buy from the first supplier you come across, check that they have experience in the industry. This makes sure the items you need are good quality. And in case something goes wrong, make sure your purchases are backed up by a warranty. You can see that in comparison with taking a risk on overpriced the latest equipment, buying second-hand networking equipment makes sense. If you work out exactly how much money and time you’ll save, you’ll never purchase the latest networking equipment again.

Aromatherapy has been proverbial for its benefits for many years. Aromatherapy is mainly employed to raise one’s mood and wellbeing via purifying essential oils from plants Well known as ‘alternative medicine’, aromatherapy is utilized in nursing homes for caring for infection issues and pain-relief.

Historically, aromatherapy became famous after its break-through use by a French surgeon during World war II. To resolve decongestion problems, use a mist fountain to ignite essential oils. Essential oils are also well-noted for their skin-care practices. Superficial fluid extraction is a standard process to evoke essential oils from flowers and plant tissues.

Massage clinics and health club treatments are immaculate places to have a mist fountain. Most of the mist fountains either come in tabletop style or floor model style. Survey Revives Old Debate on the Future of the Mainframe

Posted in Better Hardware, Online Technology Resources, Software Portal by admin on the October 29th, 2009

A new survey conducted on data center users suggests that there is going to be a significant decrease in the use of mainframe although industry analysts say that the results of the said survey are unlikely to happen.

The survey was conducted by Afcom, a well-known group that represents data center workers. Afcom’s survey covered various topics and was able to get responses from 436 data centers, most of which are located in the US including government and university facilities as well as a couple of others from overseas.

Forty percent of those that were surveyed are still operating mainframes today with two being the median number of mainframes in the said facilities. Of the group that uses mainframes, almost half or 46 percent are looking into replacing one or more over the next two years.

About two-thirds of the group expects to replace their mainframes with new ones. However, about 32.9 percent said that they are going to replace their mainframes with another type of high-end system - probably a dedicated linux server or any other resilient system type.
It’s not uncommon to hear of IT industry experts predicting the demise of the mainframe particularly with the creation of more reliable and powerful Unix servers in the nineties.

Most of these predictions turned out to be wrong or awfully exaggerated.
Will the mainframe decline eventually? The answer is yes,” says Gordon Haff, analyst for Illuminata. He goes on to says that one of the biggest surprises of the past decade - at least to those outside IBM, is how the mainframe had remained strong.
Haff said he finds the numbers on Afcom’s survey unbelievably high. To say that almost half of data centers are set to replace at least one of their mainframes within two years is still too high a number. High end systems do not generally turn over so quickly to facilitate this shift.

How to Buy the Right Carry Bag for Your Ipaq PDA

Posted in Better Hardware by admin on the May 21st, 2009

Once you have purchased an Ipaq PDA you next step will be to find a nice bag or case to carry it in. You want to protect your investment with a durable case. You should also make sure that your new case meets your needs. Bag-like cases offer you space as well as safety. Learning about the different styles will help you chose a case or bag that meets your needs.

There are some really good reasons to buy a case or bag for your Ipaq PDA. The main reason may be to protect the PDA from breaking. If you have a sturdy case it can protect your PDA if it is accidentally dropped or stepped on. You can also protect your PDA from weather conditions if you are going to be using it outside often. Water damage to a PDA can be fatal.

You will probably get a generic case from the manufacturer with your PDA. It will most likely be simple and constructed of cardboard and plastic. It may work for simple protection, like keeping your screen from getting scratched, but for more serious protection you need to get another sturdier case. The investment you make in a new case or bag is well worth the protection you get for your investment in your PDA.

The types of cases vary from soft to hard covers. You can also get extra storage. There are soft covered cases that open up like a book with your PDA on one side and room on the other for a notepad. There are hard cases that offer the most extreme protection against any possible harm. Bag type cases are soft and look like a mini duffel bag. They not only house your PDA, but offer many different storage areas for your cell phone, a small snack, car keys or whatever you need to take with you.

These bag type cases reduce the need for you to carry a purse or other bag and use only your PDA case. Another thing you may want to look at is how your PDA fits into the case. If you are going to want to use your PDA while it is in the case and it is a generic case that is not made specifically for your Ipaq then you may end up with problems.

Buttons could be covered, the screen covered or speakers not clear so the sound is muffled. If you hook connections into your PDA often you should make sure you can do so while it is in the case if you intend to keep it in the case while using. Check how easy it is to put your PDA in and take it out of the case. Chose a case that offers you the features you need.

Going over why you need a PDA case or bag and looking into the different options in cases will help you chose the best case for you. Be sure to consider how you use your PDA and if the case will effect how you use it. It doesn’t hurt to try on your PDA case and give it a practice round to see how it will work if you actually buy it.

Will IPods Change the Way We Watch Television?

Posted in Better Hardware by admin on the April 30th, 2009

The industry was intrigued by Wednesday’s announcement that episodes of the hit ABC shows “Desperate Housewives” and “Lost” will be available for Apple’s new video iPod. Episodes will go on sale for $1.99 on iTunes the day after they are broadcast.

For ABC and its parent Walt Disney Co., the bet is that the new technology will bring in more new fans of the programs than will be taken away from watching them on traditional broadcast television.

The network’s affiliates were not told the deal was in the works before Wednesday, and they’re the people most likely to be concerned about its impact. Now the iPod will join digital video recorders and DVDs as another way of seeing television programs other than their regularly scheduled times on the ABC stations.

Leon Long, chairman of ABC’s affiliate board and general manager of WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Miss., wasn’t worried.

He said if viewers have the choice of watching “Desperate Housewives” on their wide-screen television with surround sound or a two-inch iPod screen, they will almost certainly watch it on TV. The iPod option will likely be attractive to people who missed an episode and want to keep up with the story, he said.

Your Cartridge Components Are Clogging Your Ink-Toner Cartridges And Counterfeits Are Slowly Melting

Posted in Better Hardware by admin on the March 28th, 2009

Are you aware of the facilities where your cartridge components are being made?

Some of those parts bought do not always come from the sticker label that is on the cartridge component itself.

There may be times you encounter a marketer who is willing to provide inkjet or toner cartridges to you at an inexpensive price without further concern on the actual component.

This is done in the area of falsehood in which the buyer is deceived by the false markings and doesn’t realize the hoax.

Allow me…

The prices from the manufacturer are so cheap it makes the offer irresistable to some and to others it throws up a red flag.

This is what you would call grey market offers that take place in dark dungeoned rooms. A good portion of cartridge manufacturer’s turn to the grey market particularly because they need product before the customer’s lead time runs out. This can lead into the buyer renegotiating the terms or rejecting the transaction.

The problem with this is when the distributor goes to resell for the manufacturer, the printer toner cartridge componets aren’t coming from a reliable manufacturer. The failure rate for the goods become greater. Some buyers and sellers will catch on to these misguided labels after the defective components have been returned and processed through quality and inspection.

It is nearly impossible to notice the difference in color and quality between a genuine cartridge component and a counterfeit one.

This is why further examination is critical in circumstances such as an investigation. It determines how quick it will fail.

Please let me explain. The last thing you need is an imported quantity of 50,000 inkjet cartridges and find more than 51% of them are duds. This foreign quick scheme is notorious from exporters. You just never know who is replicating these ink items.

Your much better off requesting for a sample and testing it for yourself. Most manufcturers will have you pay for the sample cartridge which is normal. They do this so they are not handing out samples all day otherwise they would be out in the cold with a cup in their hand begging for quarters.

Oh by the way, expect to pay full price for the sample printer ink since it’s not a volume order. Counterfeit cartridge labels on cartridge component goods cover approximately 9.7% of the perecent of international and domestic hardware trade.

Recent Studies have indicated nearly $524 billion dollars have been sold throught various trade scandles. Custom duties perform more indepth thorough searches before releasing any goods into the new land. It’s a very strict and vitale procedure.

The way this benefits the cartridge counterfeiters is when they don’t have to be concerned about marketing and branding purposes, therefore they inherit quite rather large profits as a result.

There are several countries which take place in cartridge counterfeit materials. Be sure to be as sharp as a number 2 pencil in your dealings. Here are 7 regions to have your cartridge sniping scope targeted for the foresight of these incoming counterfeits:

-Nigeria

-Egypt

-China

-Paraguay

-Asia

-Hong Kong

-Philippines

-Vietnam

-Russia

-Ukraine

-And many others

Please don’t misunderstand me here, there are suppilers within these regions who are reliable and who do provide authentic product and excellent services. You just have to find them, a matter of who you know at that point. The chances of them finding you is great, so keep your night vision on red alert.

Video Cards: Is AGP Dead?

Posted in Better Hardware by admin on the March 18th, 2009

If you’ve been looking to upgrade your computer video card you’ve probably heard a great deal about PCI Express and SLI. Don’t run out and buy a new computer just yet and take that AGP motherboard you just threw away out of the trash. The truth is you can probably make some simple upgrades to your current computer to get a couple more years of gaming out of it. Of course if you have an extremely slow processor and/or less than an 8x AGP motherboard, you will need to do more than upgrade your graphics card. However, in most cases people’s computers are only a couple of years old and really have plenty of processing power.

The three things to look at are your memory, motherboard, and video card. To get the most out of the more recent games you want to have at least 1GB of RAM. This is a very simple upgrade and only takes a couple of minutes. For more information on upgrading your memory you can visit my website. Second, check to be sure your AGP slot on your current motherboard is 8x. If your memory and motherboard meet these standards you’re in luck. A new video card will probably float you for at least another year, likely two if you get a top of the line card. The thing to remember is that PCI Express is new technology and not nearly as widespread as AGP is. Game companies want to make as much money as possible from each game. For this reason, they will try to make the games play well on the widest array of platforms. When you think about it like this, it is easy to see how AGP will be useful for a while longer. For more information on AGP video cards visit the Video Card review section of my website.

If your motherboard isn’t up to par or your processor is outdated it is time for an upgrade. If you are a do-it-yourselfer like I am, you should look into building your own computer. It’s not as difficult as you might think and can save you a good deal of money.

The USB Toll

Posted in Better Hardware by admin on the March 11th, 2009

In 1962, a group of brilliant engineers have postulated the RS232 serial communications protocol, and until 1998 everybody worked with this communications channel very well. It was present on all PCs, until recently. Today, if you will check the newest models of computers on sale, you are going to discover more than half of the tower/desktop PCs do not have the serial RS232 connector (DB 9), and for certain no laptops have it. This is due to a group of only seven companies: they have figured out they can easily milk more money from users and developers, if they force the implementation of a “better” alternative to the old RS232.

Things are this way. A communications channel should be just what it is: a simple hardware communications channel. Each software routine or hardware module should be capable of accessing the communications channel easily, just by configuring it, and this is exactly the case of the RS232 protocol. Since 1962 millions of applications have been written based on RS232 serial communications, and some of them are technical, unique and very expensive. According to the most basic rule in the digital world, which says “backwards compatibility”, it was logic and natural that RS232 was going to be upgraded to higher speeds, and smaller interface connectors. Unfortunately, logic does not sell very well these days.

The reverse of the good, decent logic says: “Why not make the serial communications channel very difficult to implement? Let’s make that communications channel driver so difficult to implement that people would be glad to pay money to have it already done. In addition, we could make this new serial communications channel strictly dependant, so that it will work only on one particular version of Operating System; for different OS versions, they will have to pay more money! Even more, if somebody is smart enough to develop this new serial communications channel driver, then that person or company will have to pay an annual subscription fee of, say, 10000 up to 20000 USD, in order to sell his or their products.”

“Wait a minute; we can also sell a unique code number with each new driver, named ‘Vendor’s Code’ so that only the big companies are going to afford getting one. The medium and small developers, and the public eventually, will have to pay for it!”

“Could we make it worse?”

“Yes, we can take out all ‘free of charge’ RS232 connectors, from all PCs, so that everybody will have to implement the ‘better’ communications channels. Ha, ha!”

“Can we make it even worse?”

“Yes, we do have many possibilities to make it worse, but we will implement them gradually, one at a time, so that our new source of wealth will never dry out!”

“Now, to add insult to the injury, I suggest naming the new communications protocol “universal”: the Universal Serial Bus!”

“Ha, ha, ha!”

A communications channel it is just like a necessary tool: you grab it and work with it, then you put it back where you took it from. You do not need to work for 3 or 4 months to develop a “driver” for that channel–nobody did it with RS232. Today, implementing USB communications in a small project it is more demanding that the project itself, for most applications, and it is so expensive that small and medium developers cannot afford doing it: they have to buy USB drivers from “qualified-vendors”!

Sure, the qualified-vendors are also selling RS232-to-USB adaptors, but this is still lots of extra costs added to the totally free RS232 interface we had. However, what is really alarming is, the trend is to eliminate any trace of free communications channels, from all PCs! With little efforts today, the international community of developers and IEEE could get together and reinstate the old RS232 serial communications channel, based on an upgraded and (easily) backwards compatible new RS232 protocol. This is not very difficult and I offer my help.

Please note; besides from being intentionally very difficult to implement and costly, the USB protocol it is a proprietary one. That group of seven companies I mentioned has a license on it! This is not right, because PC architecture it is public domain, and same is the old, reliable, RS232 serial communications channel. They belong to all of us, and it is our right and duty to protect public domain from being stolen. If we do not defend our rights, now, rest assured we are going to see more parts of our PCs becoming the property of few groups of companies, one by one.

Video Cell Phone with Mind Reader Enabling Device

Posted in Better Hardware by admin on the March 9th, 2009

We have all heard the scary thought that are cell phones or cooking our brains in causing cancer. Although the microwave frequencies used by cell phones due in fact radiate from the headset the amount of power that actually comes out is very low and probably not a lot of damage can be done to your brain cells. However, since your cell phone is sending waves into your skull, we may as well use those waves for something more positive.

For instance with a little frequency modification trickery we should be able to send the waves through your skull to the other side and pick up interference from your normal brain waves and thoughts. Why would this be important? Well, because it would indicate which part of your brain waves were being activated in which part of your brain at a certain time. Thus, we could use your cell phone to scan your brain and read your thoughts.

Now then, we would not actually be reading your thoughts but rather know about which realm you were thinking of you therefore perhaps interface with your cell phone and your brain waves to dial call. For instance let’s say you want to call your children or your wife or husband; your cell phone could read those thoughts in initiate the dialing sequence, simply because you thought of them while the receiver was put up to your ear and turned on. I suppose this gives a whole new meeting to the friends and family program. But, I am certain in the future you will see this feature available on every cell phone, and why not we have the technology now to make this happen, so it is only a matter of time. Consider this in 2006.
