Daniel Ek the CEO of Spotify has unveiled the future expansion plans of the company he heads while speaking in this week’s SXSWi event. Spotify is a music streaming service with seven million registered users, Out of these 320,000 users are of the premium category as they have opted to pay for the ads free subscription/service.

The company plan to provide its service on some web connected platforms. This may be a set top box, an Xbox or the mobile phone. It aims at making his service easily accessible and user friendly by making it available through various interfaces.

As a part of his plan the company has signed an agreement with Sony Ericsson. The users of Vivaz Sony Ericsson’s smart phone will now have this service pre-loaded through 3Mobile. Tech Radar has reported on the internet that more such deals are in the pipeline.

These ambitious plans of the company announced by Daniel Ek have to face few initial hiccups. A major problem is that this service is not well known in the US. The company is yet to establish itself as a reliable service provider in the US. Also the deal with the US counterpart of the copyright owners is not yet through.
